Two Akyat-Bahay robbers were collared by operatives of the Quezon City Police District in follow-up operations over the weekend.

QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit chief P/Maj. Don Don Llapitan identified the suspects as Dennis Rabara Dulay, 37, years old, and Richard Alvarado Lagasca, 44, years old, both residents of Brgy. Matandang Balara, Quezon City.

Llapitan said that on 20 December, at around 1:00 am witness Jhon Van Erick Ravalo saw three male persons at the roof of their junkshop located at No. 1 South Zuzuarregui, Brgy. Old Balara, while taking their garbage outside.

Ravalo ignored them as he thought that they were just fixing the electric wires of their neighbors.

Consequently, at 4:00 PM on 23 December, victim Shanine Destor together with Ravalo opened the storage room and discovered a hole in the roof and found that 70 kilograms of assorted junk copper were missing. They reviewed the CCTV camera of their junkshop and saw the suspects conspiring with each other to steal the loot.

The victim and witness immediately reported the incident to CIDU operatives who quickly initiated a joint follow-up operation with Batasan Police Station (PS 6) under P/Lt.Col. Paterno Domondon Jr., which resulted in the arrest of the suspects in front of a gasoline station, in Commonwealth Avenue corner Feria, Barangay Matandang Balara, Quezon City while the other suspect is now subject for manhunt operation.

Recovered from the suspects' possessions were seven kilograms of several copper wires and tube wires amounting to P3,997.00.

The suspects will be charged with Robbery before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.

"Walang pinipiling oras ang serbisyo publiko ng mga kapulisan sa QCPD. Makakaasa ang mga mamamayan na patuloy kaming magsusumikap upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan dito sa Quezon City," QCPD Director Red Maranan said.
