A total of 163 delegates from Trend Micro Philippines showcased their AI expertise, clinching two Top 5 spots at the recent global Trend Micro AI Hackathon held in Fukuoka, Japan.
Outnumbering participants from 19 other countries, including the US, Australia, and Brazil, the Filipino contingent cemented the Philippines' growing prominence in AI-powered cybersecurity.
From an initial pool of 1,348 finalists, two Filipino teams — Team "Deep-L" and Team "Data Defenders" — secured the 4th and 5th places, respectively, demonstrating exceptional talent and skill within the local cybersecurity industry.
The Filipino delegation included graduates from institutions such as PUP Manila, Saint Louis University, and Divine World College of Legazpi.
The global AI Hackathon is a Trend Micro initiative designed to deepen understanding and expertise in AI technology.
