President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos on Christmas Day to find light in their hearts to reignite love and unity.
"May the light of Christmas fill our hearts with warmth and hope," the President said in a social media post, extending a "joyful and blessed" holiday from his family to all Filipinos.
The President spent Christmas Eve in Malacañang with his family and the extended Marcos and Romualdez clans, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos posted on her Instagram account.
"Christmas is the perfect time for families to get together," the First Lady wrote.
The Catholic Church, likewise, reminded the public of the importance of sharing their blessings with those in need as Filipino Catholics swarmed churches on Christmas Day.
Amid the festivities, Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula urged Catholics to "be more concrete and specific in our words of gratitude and acts of charity."
"Visit the sick, the elderly, and those deprived of liberty; be present to those who are grieving; console the broken-hearted; pray for peace," Advincula said in his Christmas message.
Meanwhile, House Speaker Martin Romualdez called on all Filipinos to cherish the gift of family.
"As we gather under the glow of Christmas lights and the warmth of our homes, I am filled with gratitude and joy to extend my heartfelt greetings to every Filipino family," Romualdez said.
The House chief reminded the public that Christmas encompasses more than gift-giving but entails sharing, mainly through acts of kindness and compassion, among other things.
"In every gift shared, a thread of hope is woven into the fabric of our community. Let us embrace the spirit of bayanihan, reaching out to our neighbors and spreading joy to those in need. In doing so, we light up the lives of others, just as the parols light up our skies," he said.
