Maranan collabs with UK Police CCTV Unit experts
for Enhanced CCTV Utilization

Quezon City Police District Director, P/Brig.Gen. Redrico Maranan on Thursday said they have collaborated with United Kingdom's police officials for advanced surveillance techniques.

Maranan met with UK CCTV Unit headed by Simon Jones, UK Counter Terrorism Police Liaison Officer of the Philippines, British Embassy, Manila for more effective use of Closed-Circuit Television systems in surveillance and criminal investigations at QCPD, Camp Karingal, Quezon City.

Both officials recognized the significant role of an advanced surveillance system, and during the discussion, the said unit proposed a training course covering key lessons such as identifying opportunities and gaps, crafting a CCTV retrieval strategy, practice and resourcing, exhibit retrieval, viewing techniques and logging, statements, and presentation at court. These lessons are designed to empower law enforcement personnel with the necessary skills to effectively utilize CCTV technology in various aspects of their work.

"In an era where technology plays an essential role in law enforcement, leveraging advanced CCTV systems is paramount," Maranan said.

This dialogue with the UK CCTV Unit opens doors for enhancing our surveillance and investigative capabilities to ensure the safety and well-being of the Quezon City community," he added.
