TACLOBAN CITY — Catarman prelate Bishop Emmanuel Trance resigned from his post for an undisclosed reason, five years short of the mandatory retirement age set by the Vatican.
The Vatican announced the acceptance of Trance's resignation on Friday at around 7 in the evening, as well as the appointment of Auxiliary Bishop Nolly Buco of Antipolo as the apostolic administrator of the diocese of Catarman until a new bishop is appointed.
Trance is set to retire in 2028 when he reaches 75 years old, the mandatory retirement age for bishops under the 1983 Code of Canon Law.
