The Quezon City Council, led by Vice Mayor Sotto as its presiding officer, was hailed the most outstanding legislative body in the National Capital Region in the Local Legislative Award 2023 — the third Local Legislative Award given to it by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The QC Council was cited for its best performance for the period July 2019 to June 2022, with a 99.5 percent rating based on the assessment of the Regional Awards Committee of the LLA.
The QC Legislative Council, composed of 38 city councilors from the city's six districts, was named the NCR Regional Winner for the third consecutive time.
Sotto received the award at the 2023 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards hosted by the DILG.
"Patunay lamang na epektibo ang pagsusulong ng konseho ng mga makabuluhan at epektibong ordinansa," Sotto told the Daily Tribune sas he also thanked the DILG for recognizing the QC Council's efforts to serve QC residents with beneficial legislative measures.
