Subic Bay Freeport — The Royal Malaysian Navy arrived at this premier Freeport as part of their four-day goodwill visit to the Philippines last Monday.

The Philippine Navy in a statement said that the RMN contingent docked at the Riviera Wharf on board the patrol vessel KD Kedah (FF171) and the fast patrol craft KD Todak (3506) and was received by the PN delegation led by Commander Adonie Aromin.

Malaysian Defense Attaché Col. Ahmad Jafri Bin Ahmad Zuliyadai and Assistant Defense Attaché Lt. Commander Yuzzlaizaf Bin Mohammad Yunus were also present during the welcoming of the Malaysian Naval forces.

Aromin said that the Malaysian Navy's four-day goodwill visit will include a courtesy call of Eastern Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Dato Pahlawan Hi Muhammed Ruzelme, a study on PN leadership, shipboard tour exchange, reciprocal receptions, and the concluding Passing Exercise.

"The visit aims to sustain the already strong bilateral relations between the Philippines and Malaysia founded on both countries' commitment to maritime security and cooperation in the region," Aromin said.

The Navy, meantime, cited that these interactions not only contribute to building trust and cooperation among nations but also provide opportunities for respective navies to show capabilities and share best practices in carrying out mandates in support of regional security and stability.
