
ZAMBOANGA CITY — A total of 15,000 Sangguniang Kabataan officials have started to undergo SK Mandatory Training as stipulated under the provisions of Republic Act 10742 or the SK Reform Act of 2015 and Bangsamoro Local Governance Code.
The SK Mandatory Training is required for both SK officials and members of the Local Youth Development Council before they can assume office.
Ministry of the Interior and Local Government Minister Naguib Sinarimbo said that his agency and the Bangsamoro Youth Commission issued a Joint Memorandum Circular as guidelines in the implementation of the SKMT.
Sinarimbo added that about 671 SK officials coming from the seven towns in Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte have undergone SKMT in Cotabato City on 7 November.
He added that another batch of about 3,000 SK officials coming from the two Maguindanao provinces will also undergo SKMT this week and next week while the remaining SK officials from Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Sulu, Lanao del Sur and Marawi City will also undergo SKMT in Cotabato City this month.
