President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to stand as one against the storm of climate change.

"We all have a role to play in this mission," the President said in a video message at the opening ceremony of the 16th Annual Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week.

He added: "So we must work together, take a stance in support of our planet. Let us be involved in creating solutions to mitigate the effects of global warming and climate change."

Emphasizing the need for effective communication to raise awareness about the impact of climate change, he commended the Climate Change Commission for its efforts to promote this year's theme of "Bayanihan Para sa Klima: Bagong Bansang Matatag" (Together for the Climate: A Strong New Nation).

"I enjoin the Climate Change Commission to effectively communicate this year's theme of unity and cooperation for a more resilient and adaptable nation," he said.

Marcos also expressed his commitment to building a "new Philippines" that is resilient to climate change.

"We have only one goal, and that is to build a new Philippines that is resilient to challenges, peaceful and safe for its citizens, and full of hope for a better future," he said.

The 16th Annual Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week is held from 19 to 25 November. The week-long event aims to raise awareness about the impact of climate change and to promote sustainable practices among Filipinos.
