
Authorities arrested two individuals who were entrapped in separate anti-illegal drug operations carried out by the Quezon City Police District early Sunday which also resulted in the seizure of P497,000 worth of illegal drugs.
In its report, the QCPD said that its District Drug Enforcement Unit nabbed a certain Reynante Basbaño, a resident of Sitio San Roque in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa during an operation conducted by the unit's operatives along with personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspect was cornered along Agham Road at 2 a.m. Sunday after a concerned citizen reported the drug peddling activity of the suspect.
A police officer acted as poseur buyer and bought P10,500 worth of shabu from Basbaño and at the signal, authorities proceeded to arrest the suspect, who yielded 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at P374,000, a brown pouch, a cellular phone and the buy-bust money.
Over at Barangay Pasong Tamo, operatives from the Holy Spirit Police Station under Col. P/Lt. May Genio arrested a certain Rustan Danico Oarga, listed as No. 1 Street Level Individual.
The suspect was nabbed along Capaz Street in Barangay Holy Spirit and seized from his possession were 1,025 grams of suspected marijuana leaves with fruiting tops valued at P123,000, a white tote bag, one unit Suzuki Raider motorcycle and the buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
