The Quezon City Police District successfully participated in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill for the year 2023 on Thursday at the QCPD Headquarters.
The event, organized by the QCPD in collaboration with the Disaster Incident Management Task Group, Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council and Bureau of Fire Protection, aims to enhance the preparedness and response capabilities of personnel in the event of a seismic disaster.
During the drill, two personnel were found injured. In response, emergency response teams acted promptly to provide medical assistance and evacuate them to designated safe areas. This demonstrated the high level of coordination and cooperation among all participants, highlighting their dedication to safeguarding lives and minimizing the potential consequences of an actual earthquake.
Representatives from BFP and QCDRRMC commended the active participation of the QCPD personnel in this drill. They emphasized the importance of preparedness through proper planning, communication and training to become more equipped to respond effectively during real emergencies.
"The QCPD remains committed to its mission of providing a safe and secure environment for all residents. Initiatives like the NSED play a crucial role in raising awareness, promoting resilience, and strengthening the capacity of individuals and communities to withstand natural disasters," P/Brig. Gen. Red Maranan, QCPD director, said.
