Tipping waiters is part of American culture. Diners are supposed to tip at least 15 percent of the meal price, according to Trip Advisor, a hotel, dining and travel booking platform.
Two diners at Big League Brews in Taylor, Michigan knew the rules but were shocked upon seeing their bill in May.
On the bill was a suggested tip of 99 percent and the corresponding amount, WXYZ reported.
There were two other suggested tips in the bill, 50 percent and 29 percent, also with the corresponding amounts. Whether or not the customers gave a tip and which option they chose was not reported by WXYZ.
It's a different case at the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant in Blue Ridge, Georgia. There is a special charge indicated at the bottom of the menu that reads: $$$ "For adults unable to parent."
Kyle and Lyndsey Landmann recently took their two children to the place. The parents were aware of the special charge but the father was confident their children would not misbehave.
After their meal, the restaurant owner personally served the bill to the Landmanns. He was charging an extra $50 allegedly for the children misbehaving, Sky reported.
The parents protested, insisting their young children were well-behaved and were just playing on their tablet. But the owner was adamant, telling the dad that his children were "being too loud" and "running around outside."
Mr. Landmann left a review on Toccoa Riverside Restaurant online, sharing the family's experience. One comment by another reviewer read: "If you have children, absolutely avoid this place at all costs."
