Stylish trendsetters Amanda Luym and Cacay Moras-Server, the innovative founders of Disenyo del Sur, an online e-commerce platform that celebrates the creative expressions of women while showcasing their unique and visionary crafted items, recently presented an exclusive holiday preview of their upcoming collections.
The exclusively online platform, centered on women-led businesses from the Visayas region, started during the pandemic to showcase sustainable, small-batch, artisan finds handcrafted in the region. The recent affair proved to be an exception
— the physical event transformed the JEG Tower Rooftop into an empowering venue filled with Disenyo del Sur's in-house brands and collaborators.
At the launch, the mother brand, ALL THAT GLITTERS, characterized by simple mechanisms, unveiled two new projects — SHAKOTAN, a limited-edition men's line inspired by the breathtaking Hokkaido coastline; and STARDUST, a fine jewelry collection which consisted of a tailored line of high-level gemstones — and continued the brand's mission. PADAYON introduced the use of dead stock and recycled fabrics to create simple clothes that differentiate the border between loungewear and resort. BLANK CANVAS offered the purest of unscented choices of essential oil-based self-care products. POTHEADS were modern, wind-friendly sturdy suspension for plants.
ATOA, the Cebuano word for "ours," was an inventive initiative created by Patricia Mancao Canton. CURIO, headed by the mother and daughter team of Ina and Danica Ronquillo, brought in their ubiquitous fisherman's pants and trays. Debbie Palao and Ina Gaston of HOLICOW displayed a selection of upcycled and recycled community driven and zero waste products.
STASSI & CO., with founder Riccardi Lu, featured bath ritual essentials. Rica Borja and Chelsea Tuason of ARTISANAT worked primarily with linens for their everyday handmade staples. Décor was made possible by Jaime Chua of Blooms and Greens, Maris Holopainen of Qube Gallery, and the home accessories of Neil Felipp.
With these collective efforts, Disenyo Del Sur celebrated and magnified the profound impact that can be achieved through unity and merging of talents.
