Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, in coordination with the local governments of Roxas City and Mambusao, lauded the 250 graduates who completed their Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) program in Roxas City and Mambusao, Capiz.

Go also provided additional support and tokens to the graduates during their commencement exercises held at the Gerry Roxas Convention Center in Roxas City on Wednesday, 11 October, and Angeles Lema Villareal Cultural Center in Mambusao on Thursday, 12 October.

The senator gave away grocery packs, snacks, pens, and shirts to each graduate.

"As you graduate from TESDA, remember that this is just the beginning of your journey towards personal and professional growth. The skills and knowledge you have acquired here will be your foundation for success in your chosen field," said Go in a video message.

"Your dedication, hard work, and determination have truly paid off, and you stand as shining examples of the power of education and skill development. Through your commitment, you have not only enhanced your own capabilities but also contributed to the growth and progress of our nation," he added.

Go likewise continues to emphasize the paramount importance of education in the nation's progress. He pledged to support educational initiatives through a series of legislative measures.

The lawmaker co-authored and co-sponsored Senate Bill No. (SBN) 1864 or the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act, which has been approved in third and final reading in the Senate. This proposed legislation is aimed at providing assistance to students facing challenges in repaying their loans as a result of unexpected disasters and emergencies.

Go has also filed SBN 1190, which seeks to broaden the scope and uses of the Special Education Fund (SEF) within local government units. This includes covering expenses for the operation and upkeep of public schools, salary disbursements and benefits for both teaching and non-teaching staff, competency training, supporting the Alternative Learning System (ALS), and promoting educational research, among various other purposes.

Go co-authored and co-sponsored SBN 2200, or the Basic Education Mental Health and Well-Being Promotion Act. The bill aims to establish a Mental Health and Well-Being Center in both public and private K-12 schools. It also supports the Department of Education's learning recovery plan and creates new permanent positions for Guidance Counselor and Guidance Associate.

Meanwhile, the senator also filed a parallel measure, SBN 1786, which seeks to mandate public higher education institutions (HEIs) to establish Mental Health Offices in their respective campuses.

"As you step forward into the workforce armed with your newfound skills, remember that the path you've chosen is one of endless possibilities. Your training at TESDA has equipped you with the tools to excel in your chosen fields, and I have no doubt that you will leave your mark on the industries you are about to enter," Go said.

"It is my hope that you continue to strive for excellence, to keep learning and growing, and to inspire others with your success stories. Your achievements will serve as an inspiration to many, showcasing the importance of vocational education and its impact on individual lives and our society as a whole," he added.

Moreover, Go filed SBN 2115, which aims to institutionalize a technical-vocational education and training and livelihood program for rehabilitated drug dependents. The bill seeks to provide skills training and enhance the employability of former drug dependents, allowing them to rebuild their lives and contribute to their communities.
