On the occasion of World Teachers' Day, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said his administration will prioritize teachers' welfare and their families.
In a Facebook Post, Marcos thanked the teachers and educators to whom the country owes an "immeasurable debt."
"We recognize your sacrifices for our youth and assure you that we will prioritize your welfare and that of your families," he said.
World Teachers' Day is commemorated on 5 October each year to honor educators worldwide.
According to UNESCO's website, World Teachers' Day was established through a collaboration between the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the International Labour Organization.
The National Teachers' Month officially began in the Philippines on 5 September. It concluded on 5 October, coinciding with National Teachers' Day and World Teachers' Day celebrations.
