Taytay cop slay suspects in custody

Authorities have arrested the two remaining at-large suspects in the killing of a police officer in Taytay, Rizal last 7 September.

Rizal police provincial director P/Col. Rainerio de Chavez identified the arrested suspects as Eleo Poblador Belda, alias Bonbon; and Caroso Poblador Belda Jr., alias Nonoy.

The two suspects were arrested in a construction site in Barangay Muzon, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan over the weekend, De Chavez said.

Confiscated from them were the service firearm of the slain policeman a cal.9mm Pietro Beretta Pistol, with one magazine, four live ammunitions, and hand grenade.

The two will be charged for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition and Republic Act 9516 or the Illegal Possession of Explosive before the office of National Prosecution Service III, City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan under Assistant City Prosecutor Romel delos Reyes.

The suspects are currently detained at the Taytay Municipal Police Station custodial facility pending preliminary investigation.

Police Staff Sergeant Allan Guimpayan, who is assigned to the Taytay Municipal Police Station, was eating dinner at a tapsihan and pares house when he was shot by four suspects.

While eating, a group of people approached him and for no apparent reason, an altercation ensued.

The suspects conspiring with one another attacked and mauled the victim prompting him to repel the attack. However, with the overwhelming force, the suspects were able to forcibly take his service firearm and shoot the victim several times.
