Palace suspends gov’t work on 25 September for Nat’l Family Week celebration

Malacañang on Friday announced the suspension of government operations within the executive branch starting at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, 25 September, in observance of National Family Week.

In Memorandum Circular No. 32, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin earlier this week, Malacañang urged executive branch employees to actively participate in the initiatives and events organized by the National Committee on the Filipino Family as part of their support for Family Week.

"The suspension of work in all branches of government, in independent commissions or bodies, and in the private sector is encouraged, so as to afford all Filipino families the full opportunity to celebrate the 31st National Family Week," the memorandum read.

However, government agencies or departments responsible for providing essential services, particularly those related to healthcare, disaster readiness, and response, will maintain their operations and fulfill their duties.

Proclamation No. 60 (s. 1992) officially designated the final week of September as Family Week.
