U.S. national nabbed over NAIA assault

The Manila International Airport Authority confirmed that a black American was arrested and jailed for allegedly assaulting security personnel at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
The airport authority identified the suspect as Tyrone Bennett, a 54-year-old US national, who was charged with violating the Revised Penal Code's Article 151 for resistance and disobedience to a person in authority; Article 155 for alarm and scandal; Article 148 for direct assault; and Article 263 for physical injuries.
According to NAIA-T3 Airport Police Chief Froilan F. Sanchez, Bennett allegedly hit the face of APO1 John Carlos Carbonel at the NAIA Terminal 3 Departure Gate 2 at around 6:37 p.m. on 14 September when APO1 Carbonel approached him.
Bennett reportedly got irked when a cab driver complained about him not paying his taxi fare. He then tried to enter the NAIA Terminal 3 departure gate, but the airport security personnel barred him from entering the departure lobby after he failed to show his plane ticket for his flight.
Bennett reportedly lost his cool and punched the security guards who attempted to approach him.
The Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group finally came, pinned down Bennett, and shackled him in order to bring him under control.
Bennet is now detained at the Police Intelligence and Investigation Division Office at MIAA Airport Police Department headquarters in NAIA Complex, Pasay City.
