`Money, cash,’ house: Jay-Z, Beyoncé purchase $200M Malibu property
Power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé bought a mansion considered a masterpiece in architecture, paying a record sum of $200M for a 30,000-square-foot (roughly 2,700 square meters) home in Malibu.
TMZ, quoting a real estate source, said it was the most expensive home ever purchased in California. It is also the second highest-priced in all of the United States – next only to a $238M apartment in New York City.
The couple, who built an empire on their brand of music both as singers and producers, reportedly cut a good deal for the property which was originally listed as $295M.

The home is nestled on a bluff, a steep shoreline slope looking out to the scenic Pacific Ocean in the Paradise Cove area otherwise known as the "Billionaires' Row."
It was designed by Tadao Ando, a Japanese master architect, who also reportedly designed the house of Kanye West also in Malibu.
