It seemed Dalisay, ‘killer’ of a hero rider, would rather die by the gun as he lived by the gun

Quezon City policemen on Saturday shot dead in Barangay Baesa the man tagged responsible for killing a heroic delivery rider last 22 December.
The police yesterday identified the slain suspect as Richmond Dalisay. Gabriel Tamondong, Dalisay's alleged cohort in evading a checkpoint along Road 10 in Barangay Bahay Toro last Wednesday was arrested.
Teams from the Quezon City special weapons and tactics and criminal investigation and detection unit used a drone in identifying the suspects' hideout in Sitio Ambuklao before moving to arrest them.
According to a police report, Dalisay shot at the SWAT and CIDU teams as they approached, prompting the latter to shoot back. Tamondong, on the other hand, was arrested without incident.
The suspects were identified by the police as the two motorcycle-riding men who evaded a checkpoint last 21 December that touched off a hot pursuit.
Dalisay alighted from the motorcycle and fled on foot after shooting dead John Dale Salazar, the rider who chased him with a policeman as a back rider. Dalisay would later commandeer a black motorcycle to make good his escape.
Said suspects were identified through closed-circuit TV footage backtracking and the statements of at least two witnesses.
Quezon City Police District chief P/Brig. Nicolas Torre III ordered the conduct of the hot pursuit and personally directed the operation to arrest the suspects.
Barangay Baesa Kagawad Renan Castillo helped the police in trying to negotiate Dalisay's surrender, but it seemed he'd rather die by the gun as he lived by the gun.
Torre said that from 1 January to 24 December this year, a total of 86 shooting incidents had occurred in Quezon City, adding 25 were already cleared, 27 solved and 34 under investigation.
