‘Our first Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz, once again showed exceptional talent in winning gold medals in the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships.’

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Friday hailed Filipino World and Olympic champion weightlifter, Hidilyn Diaz, for winning three gold medals in the 55-kilogram division of the International Weightlifting Federation World Championships in Bogota, Colombia.
In a social media post, the President said Diaz has once again showcased her splendid skills to the world.
"Muli na namang nagpamalas ng natatanging galing ang kauna-unahan nating Olympic gold medalist na si Hidilyn Diaz sa kanyang pagkapanalo ng mga gintong medalya sa (Our first Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz, once again showed exceptional talent in winning gold medals in the) 2022 World Weightlifting Championships," Marcos wrote.
He also praised the weightlifting icon for bringing pride to Filipinos by earning the World Championship title.
"I am one with the country in giving tribute to you, Hidilyn, for striving to serve as an inspiration to many Filipinos and bringing honor to the Philippines," Marcos said.
Diaz was able to register 93 kg. in snatch and 114 kg. in clean and jerk for a total of 207 kg.
In the snatch, she successfully lifted 90 kg. and 93 kg. while in the clean and jerk, she lifted 114 kg. on her first try.
