Members of the Quezon City Police District collared two individuals believed to be involved in telecom cable thefts in Taytay, Rizal.

Police Station 9 station commander P/Lt. Col. Reynaldo Vitto identified the suspects Rosendo Fallorina and Christian Moreno, both residents of Barangay Chrysanthemum in San Pedro, Laguna.

Initial reports indicated that a flash alarm was received by PS 9 from PLDT at 2:30 a.m. of 3 December 2022 regarding a cable theft incident at E. Rodriguez Avenue in Taytay, Rizal. It added that the suspects were on board a dark green Centra motorcycle and Isuzu six wheel closed van.

At about 3 a.m. of 3 December, the vehicles bearing the same description on the report was flagged at Katipunan Avenue corner Pansol Avenue.

However, the suspects tried to evade the checkpoint and a brief chase ensued which ended after the suspects were cornered at Petawealth Gasoline Station located at NIA Road corner Edsa in Barangay East Triangle.

Recovered from the suspects 2,000 pairs x 24 approximately 175 meters FSF Underground Copper Cable valued at P590,460.

The case was already turned-over to the Taytay Municipal Police Station where the incident happened and the arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Section 4 of RA 10515 or Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013.
