The Manila'Bang Show 2022 Contemporary Art: The Manila Way opens 8 December at the Festival Mall Alabang and runs until 11 December.
The show, which highlights both prominent and emerging contemporary artists from the Philippines and the international art scene, prides itself on its collaborative relationship with its partners from over 20-plus galleries, among them Secret Fresh, Arte Bettina, 1335/Mabini, and Art For Space. The fair also features prominent contemporary artists Orley Ypon, Otto Neri, Celeste Lecaroz, and Raul Isidro.
Practitioners of different mediums in contemporary art, from installations to art toys (presented by Art Toys PH) and the crypto-digital world of NFTs (digital artists Garapata, Jopet Arias, among others), are not to be missed in this four-day fair. The fair also introduces "New Wave", a pioneer exhibit showcasing the best pop art shaping the modern art scene in the Philippines today.
The Manila'Bang Show 2022 will be held in a 2,500-sqm space, to offer the public chance to experience many select pieces and curated exhibitions for free. The show is led by artistic director Alain Zedrick Camiling and organized by Contemporary ArtFairs ManilaPH.
A four-part dialogue series on collecting and art market, NFTs and the digital sphere, contemporary art management and handling, photography, and many more are showcased this year— all geared toward expanding the conversation on contemporary ways of thinking. Titled Art Talks 2022: Interchange, the forums will be graced by diverse professionals and practitioners across the arts, culture, and creative industries.
