Two murder suspects from DI fall
A joint team of police and soldiers have arrested two members of the terrorist group Daulah Islamiyah — both wanted for murder — in South Cotabato.
Jerry Pandian and Yeb Salela, who belong to the DI's Socsargen Khatiba Group, were caught during an operation in Ward 2, Glamang, Polomolok town, Joint Task Force Central Commander Maj. Gen. Roy Galido said yesterday.
Seized from them were a caliber .45 gun with magazine and bullets, one unit of 5.56mm single shot pistol with live ammunition, one 9-volts battery, one piece of improvised switches full type, one blasting cap, one container, one detonating cord, 71 pieces of enhancer and one twin wire initiator (color red and black).
Galido commended Lt. Col. Carlyleo Nagac, battalion commander of the 5th Special Forces Battalion SFBn which conducted the operation together with the police.
"Keep it up, keep it going. Let's help our counterpart in the PNP (Philippine National Police) in law enforcement with the local government unit in South Cotabato to keep the community safe from any threat," Galido told Nagac.
