First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos recently led the launching of the Presidential Library at the National Library of the Philippines in Manila.
The wife of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said she is grateful to the people who made the project successful.
"I thank you all for your sleepless nights and tireless efforts to make this Presidential Library a reality. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat," she said during the program.
She lauded them for their passion and dedication to educating the Filipino people, especially the youth.
The First Lady added that when President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assumed office in June this year, she noticed the "hundreds of books" about Philippine culture and law that "many law students would have lusted over."
"Our libraries are here to stay. The library serves as a haven for students, researchers, members of the academe, and practically everybody, rich or poor, who want to know more about our history and our country," she said.
Education is an "indispensable tool" for nation-building, she added.
