Senior citizens expressed their appreciation to the local government of Muntinlupa City after they were given a chance at a job fair on 29 November conducted by the local government unit.
Aside from the aged residents of the city the job fair also gave equal employment opportunities to LGBTQIA+ and persons with disabilities.
The job fair, dubbed, "Diversity and Pride at Work," was held at the Ayala Malls South Park, a collaboration of the Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National Capital Region South Sector, and the Muntinlupa City government through its Public Employment Service Office.
A total of 103 establishments, including the country's leading brands and companies, participated in the event with 4,837 jobs solicited.
Some 277 applicants qualified for final interviews with their respective companies while 288 were hired on-the-spot.
Mayor Rufino "Ruffy" Biazon's "Equal opportunities for all" is part of his economic agenda, including employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
On the other hand, Trina Reyes-Biazon, the mayor's wife, worked closely with the local LGBTQIA+ community through the Gender and Development Office to empower marginalized sectors and allow them to participate in city building.
