Binay aired the call during her State of the Children Address held at the Makati Coliseum along Mascardo Street.
"Here in Makati I declared a state of climate emergency to fast-track the united move of all stakeholders from the household and barangay to the business sector and civic organizations," she said.
The move, according to the lady mayor, is geared at lessening the carbon footprint alongside strengthening every community to be ready in times of calamity.
The mayor said all the efforts of the city leadership is primarily for the youth of the city to ensure their future will be strengthened.
"Rest assured that we will not neglect you (children) as you are the very first consideration of the city government as we always think of what support we can give you to ensure a better future for all of you," she said.
Binay pointed out that as the mother of the city, she will endeavor to give better opportunities to make the youth prosperous, responsible and good citizens of Makati.
She also laid down the plans and programs that have been given by the city government both to the children's mother and her baby.
"We make sure that during pregnancy of your Mommy up to the delivery of the baby she will undergo free pre-natal care and post natal care at our health centers.
Likewise, the mayor disclosed the distribution of 3,298 mother and baby kits to pregnant women after the completion of their pre-natal check-up.
The city also conducted free newborn screening to 1,695 babies at different lying-in and to the Ospital ng Makati to determine if the baby has an ailment he was born with as a preventive move.
The city also registered 4,203 children who have no birth certificate so they will have a legitimate name which is higher by three percent.
Meanwhile, personnel of the Makati Health Department continues with their house-to-house for vaccination of children who are Makatizens to protect them from common childhood diseases.
Records showed there are 13,702 children who have been vaccinated that include 4,320 fully immunized Children, and 7,942 zero to 23 months old children under Chikiting Bakunation.
These are but a few of the programs of the city government geared towards the services for children that include among others free education, uniforms, shoes, bags and others under the leadership of Mayor Binay.
