The Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command has expressed its full support to end violence against women during the commemoration of the Campaign to End Violence 2022 which will run from 25 November to 12 December 2022.

The WesMinCom said that its officers, enlisted personnel and civilian human resources participated in the nationwide launching with various activities intended to provide information on the laws protecting women and girls will be conducted during the campaign period.

The VAW Focal Point officers and members led by Col. Elmer Suderio, chief of Unified Command Staff, gathered at the WMC Conference room to attend the virtual simultaneous kickoff ceremony.

During the lowering of the flag Col. Suderio conveyed the message of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Lt. Gen. Vicente Bartolome Bacarro related to the #VAWfreePH campaign.

Bacarro stressed that the AFP provides a safe space for women to develop their confidence and potential without being harmed and disrespected.

"Our organization pledges full support to the Philippine Commission on Women and the initiative of the United Nations Campaign to End Violence against Women by 2030," Bacarro said.
