Suarez faces Indon in Vietnam

Rio Olympics veteran Charly Suarez will fight for the first time overseas as a professional when he squares off with Defry Palulu of Indonesia on 10 December in Vung Tau City, Vietnam.

Fresh from beating veteran Carlo Magali, Suarez will try to ramp his record of 13-0 with seven knockouts at The Grand Ho Tram Strip.

Trained and managed by his former national team buddy Delfin Boholst, the 34-year-old Suarez faces a tough task in Palulu, who enters the ring carrying a 25-2-2 ledger with 14 knockouts.

Palulu, 31, has been on a roll lately, having won ten of his last 11 fights.

Before turning pro, Suarez represented the Philippines extensively.

A three-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, Suarez also placed second in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

During his storied amateur career that brought hm all over the world, one of is opponents was Vasyl Lomachenko, the Ukrainian master fighter who remains one of the fight game's top talents.

Though he lost to Lomachenko, Suarez didn't fold and even dragged his vastly-talented foe to the full route.
