Fake NBI agents netted

Southern Police District director P/Brig.Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft disclosed the arrest of 10 persons who posed as agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City.

The arrested suspects will be slapped with Usurpation of Authority, Trespass to Dwelling, Serious Illegal Detention and Attempted Robbery.

Kraft identified suspects as David Tan Liao, Fritz Ian Petil Cafino, Ronaldo Cadalena Zuniega, Andy Ko Sy, Erlindo Cuago Auditor, Roderick Segundo Ensano, Bienvinido Biolango Vildad Jr., Ernesto Solamillo Baay, Roberto Daradar Pacis and Jonathan Caliwag Salud.

Meanwhile, manhunt operations are being conducted for the arrest of suspect identified as Jose Romel Herbolingo Congreso and four unidentified suspects.

Reports revealed that on 22 November, the suspects on board a Ford Expedition bearing plate number NBG3701 and Ford Explorer with plate number NBS6351 entered the Madrigal Gate of Ayala Alabang Village manned by security guards and introduced themselves and informed the guards that they will visit their friends in Maria Cristina Street.

Once inside the village, suspects went to the house of a certain Weijian Pan, a Chinese national and businessman and threatened Erick Cai, a Chinese interpreter as they pretended to be NBI agents and opened the gate by force.

After entering the house Tan Liao approached the victim and demanded P40,000,000 in exchange of his liberty.

One of the victims/witness, Juvanie Baterna Lapinig and the victim's personal driver, was able to call the village security guards and asked for help and the security guards immediately responded to the call, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
