A suspected murderer on the run for 10 years has been captured by police in Compostela, Cebu.
Ariel Panganoron Tawide a.k.a. "Bakang," male, 30, single, Filipino and resident of P-1, Barangay Amontay, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, was arrested in Purok Tamprut, Barangay Poblacion, Compostela around 4:35 p.m. of 19 November, the Compostela Municipal Police Station and Cebu Police Provincial Office said.
Personnel of MPS and CPPO together with agents of the City Intelligence Unit of the Butuan City Police Office served the warrant of arrest for Tawide who is among Region 7's most wanted person.
Tawide was accused for murder docketed under Criminal Case Number 16109 issued by Presiding Judge Emmanuel E. Escatron of Branch 2 of the 13th Judicial Region of the Regional Trial Court in Libertad, Butuan City and dated 17 December 2012, with no recommended bail.
He was brought to the Compostela MPS, CPPO for subsequent presentation to the issuing court.
