It took a lot of preparations and product experience for The Walt Disney Company to bring its streaming platform Disney+ to the Philippines.
"At the end of the day, experience matters to our users and consumers in the Philippines," David Shin, senior vice president and managing director for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia of The Walt Disney Company, told Philippine media at the launch Disney+.
Filipino viewers can now access global and Asian original Disney titles — from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star — at Disney+.
In the coming days and weeks, more films, shows and series will be launched on the platform including Limitless with Chris Hemsworth; Mickey: The Story of a Mouse; Disenchanted; Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium; The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special; Willow; and Connect.
Subscription plans start at P150 monthly, and annual mobile plan for P1,150. Premium plan is at P369 monthly or P2,950 annually.
Subscribers can use their GCash e-wallets via Alipay+ to subscribe. New and existing customers can also avail of the early bird promo of P829.
"This has been a long-awaited partnership… We want to make sure we're not only getting good content but also good experience," Shin said.
Disney+ is accessible depending on the chosen subscription plans, including smartphones and tablets (Android or iOS), smart TVs such as Samsung and LG, and connected TV devices including Google TV and other Android TV OS, Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD, and Chromecast.
