Bong Go provides support to indigents in Manila

The office of Sen. Bong Go mounted a relief effort for 250 indigents in Manila City on Monday, 14 November, as part of the senator's efforts to help more vulnerable sectors nationwide recover from the impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Go, in a video message, reminded the public to remain adherent to health protocols to curb the spread of COVID-19. He then highlighted the services offered in Super Health Centers to address their basic health needs.

As part of his efforts to strengthen the delivery of public health services, especially in far-flung areas, Go consistently pushes for the establishment of more Super Health Centers nationwide.

The Super Health Center is a medium version of a polyclinic yet an improved version of the rural health unit. The services available in the center include database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service; oncology centers; physical therapy and rehabilitation center; and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done.

Go's staff handed out snacks, masks and shirts to the residents at the Barangay 62 Hall. They also provided cellular phones, shoes, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select individuals.

In a separate distribution, personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development extended financial support to the residents.
