BoC Sulu seizes abandoned cigarettes
JOLO, Sulu — Customs authorities have seized smuggled cigarettes worth P1.35 million near the Jolo, Sulu port, apparently intended for shipment to Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
Bureau of Customs Zamboanga City District Collector Segundo Barte Jr. reported yesterday that the illicit tobacco products were recovered by the Jolo and BoC Sulu sub-port police.
Barte said the police were patroling near the Jolo Port located at Kalayaan Street, Zone 3, Barangay Tulay when they spotted the abandoned 25 master cases of Famous Brand cigarettes and five master cases of Ocean Gold brand cigarettes on Tuesday.
