The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said 13 new business zones projected to bring over P17 billion in investments will open in the country.

In a meeting with the Philippine Ecozones Associations, PEZA officer-in-charge director general Tereso Panga said that of the pending 13 zones, 12 have been endorsed to the Department of Trade and Industry as of October 2022.

"PEZA has 13 pending economic zones, one of which has been endorsed to the Office of the President, while 12 have been endorsed to DTI," he said.

"These 13 ecozones are expected to bring in investments amounting to nearly P18 billion or P17,924,887,016.72 billion."
