The holiday cheer is in the air as Megaworld Lifestyle Malls' flagship mall, Uptown Bonifacio lit up the night sky with its towering 30-feet Christmas tree. The young and young-at-heart were thrilled to watch the lights show.

The tree's main attraction is that it is powered by augmented reality technology, which enables users to view and have their photos taken accompanied by virtual renderings of beloved Christmas icons such as Santa Claus and his elves. Just download the Megaworld Lifestyle Malls' Megan app. When using mobile data or the mall's WiFi, shoppers can open the app and point their cameras toward the tree and the AR display will be activated.

Meanwhile, on the fourth level at The Deck, there's a unique hologram projection show called the Holographic Holiday. The hologram exhibition features 3D Projections of iconic Christmas characters that shoppers can see from 5p.m. onwards.

Uptown Bonifacio's Scan and Donate initiative utilizes QR codes for the tree's ornaments. When you scan the QR code, you can choose the foundation or organization to which you would like to send your donations via GCash.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls included the ABS-CBN foundation, Anawin Lay Missions Foundation, Caritas Manila, Childhope Philippines, Kythe Foundation, Operation Blessing Foundation, Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation, Virlanie Foundation, World Vision, and Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation.

"Christmas is a time of wonder and we know how to much it means to our customers. This season, we want to engage them in ways like never before and bring a renewed sense of wonder by integrating modern digital technologies into classic Christmas attractions, while giving them opportunities to reconnect with their families through our culinary offerings and a chance to spread cheers by donating to their chosen charities," Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
