Acel Bisa, Aia de Leon, Barbie Almalbis, Hannah Romawac, and Lougee Basabas never thought their music would be considered timeless.

In a media conference for the all-women concert Tanaw, Basabas of the second-generation Mojofly told Daily Tribune writing songs was a spontaneous act.

"We didn't think about things like (timelessness) when we composed (our songs). But now that we're, I guess, seasoned acts, it's heartwarming to think we are considered in that category," she said.

Bisa (Moonstar 88) De Leon (Imago), Almabis (Hungry Young Poets), and Romawac (Session Road) nodded in unison.

"Sometimes, I feel like we don't deserve it. But I'm really grateful," Basabas said.

Kitchie Nadal, who is based in Spain, couldn't make it to the press meet, though she's confirmed to perform come concert time.

Daily Tribune asked if they've tried their hand in writing music to fit today's sound.

Almabis said: "We're fans of the new music that's coming out (nowadays) and we're very eager to learn from these new artists and new ways of making music.

"That's why we're excited to have a concert because we feel like we still have something fresh and new that we want to share with everyone."

The concert's repertoire will, of course, include the songs they recorded in their heyday in the late 1990s and early 2000s
— now considered classics, or timeless.

"We've never had a celebration of this scale together, and I feel very blessed to be a part of this," De Leon said.

Tanaw, to be held on 26 November at The Theatre at Solaire, marks the first time six women rock stars from different bands will perform together.
