The Office of Sen. Bong Go, on Tuesday, 8 November, aided struggling residents in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.
In his video message, Go noted how the country's healthcare system struggled due to the global health crisis. He then underscored the need to improve public healthcare services to ensure that more disadvantaged Filipinos will receive the medical attention they need.
In this regard, the senator, as an adopted son of CALABARZON, vowed to support the establishment of eight Super Health Centers in the province, including in the cities of Bacoor, Dasmariñas, General Trias and Imus as well as in the towns of Carmona, Kawit, Magallanes and Tanza.
Super Health Centers are medium versions of polyclinics and are bigger than rural health units, which offer basic services such as out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgical unit, among others.
"Ang adbokasiya ko po ngayon ay health – palakasin pa ang ating health care system. Karagdagang hospital, mga Malasakit Center, mga Super Health Station. Magkakaroon po ng 307 na Super Health Center sa buong Pilipinas (para sa 2022)," he cited.
Held at the Portal Mall in General Mariano Alvarez, Go's team distributed masks, snacks and shirts to a total of 1,000 residents. Select beneficiaries also received bicycles and new pairs of shoes.
Meanwhile, personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided the residents with financial assistance as part of a whole-of-government effort to assist Filipinos in crisis situations.
