Bong Go highlights health services offered in Super Health Centers

Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography Sen. Bong Go has once again reiterated his appeal to his fellow Filipinos to prioritize their health as he highlighted the services offered in Super Health Centers in a video message during his team's relief operation on Saturday, 5 November, for indigents in Obando, Bulacan.

"Itong Super Health Center… inisyatibo ko 'to bilang Committee Chair on Health sa Senado. Dito po sa Bulacan, magkakaroon kayo ng pitong Super Health Center," said Go.

"Nagulat talaga ang ating health sector noong dumating ang pandemya kaya naman the more na we should invest sa ating healthcare system right now," he underscored.

Super Health Centers in the province will be strategically located in the cities of San Jose del Monte and Meycauayan and in the towns of Balagtas, Bulakan, Pandi, San Miguel, and Guiguinto.

"Ito pong tinatawag na Super Health Center, mas malaki lang po siya sa rural health unit, mas maliit sa hospital. Halimbawa emergency cases, dental, panganganak, magagamot po kaagad," Go explained.

Super Health Centers also offer basic services such as out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgical unit, among others.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Vice-Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, Go has supported the funding for the creation of Super Health Centers nationwide, especially in far-flung communities. These have been allocated in the 2022 Health Facilities Enhancement Program to construct 307 such centers this year. DOH plans to construct at least 320 more SHCs in 2022.
