Benguet kicks off ‘Adivay’ Festival

The month-long festival will be occupied by community activities, cultural and civic events and will be culminated on 23 November by a ‘cañao’

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — The provincial government here has formally launched the month-long celebration of the "Adivay" festival on Sunday morning at the Benguet Provincial Capitol.

The term "Adivay" is a Benguet word which mainly pertains to the spirit of togetherness both in festivity and unity.

Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas led the kick-off program together with Benguet Representative Eric Yap and other Benguet officials before the residents of the province.

The governor stressed that the theme of the "Adivay" 2022 is "A People's festival of culture, nature and the future."

According to Diclas, Benguet was featured by numerous news articles and announcements as the most livable province because of the province's standard of living and the promise of good life the province is capable of.

He added that the province owe this to the people from all walks of life of Benguet and because of the hard work of the Benguet people — especially the farmers — the businessmen and all who have contributed to the progress of Benguet is assured of a bright future.

The "Adivay" 2022 celebrated together with the observance of Benguet's 122nd founding anniversary.

The month-long festival will be occupied by community activities, cultural and civic events and will be culminated on 23 November by a "cañao" or grand community gathering to be participated by the people of the province's 13 municipalities.
