PIA, DLSU sign MOU

The Philippine Italian Association and the De La Salle University Manila signed a Memorandum of Understanding that introduces and implements Italian language classes into the school's curriculum.

DLSU already offers language courses in Japanese, Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Bahasa Indonesia.

Signing on behalf of DLSU was president Br. Bernard S. Oca and Dr. Rhoderick Nuncio, and on behalf of PIA were executive director and VP for Culture James Freney James Freney and executive director and VP for Operations Tillie Pelagallo.

Italian language classes are expected to begin in May, in the third trimester of the academic year 2022- 2023.

Since the 1960's, PIA has been the country's pioneer in teaching the Italian language. Over the past 10 years alone, PIA has been developing its Italian language school in partnership with the Università per Stranieri di Siena, the leading university in teaching Italian language as a foreign language. It has also developed an Italian e-learning platform and was recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Italian language promoter.
