The Baguio City-based Pasakalye Group of Artists (PGA) recently held "Pandegka," its first SM art exhibit outside the Cordilleran region at the SM City Grand Central in Caloocan City.

"Pandegka" — Ibaloi for create — featured more than 50 Cordilleran-themed artworks, along with figurative and abstract pieces from "Friends of Pasakalye," including the Freedom Arts Society of Metro Manila and Hardin Creatives of Nueva Vizcaya

PGA continues to strengthen its partnership with SM in promoting and preserving Baguio's arts, culture, and heritage.

Engr. Julius Lumiqued, vice president for external affairs and volunteer curator of Pasakalye, recalled how the group struggled at the height of the pandemic, but it pulled through with SM's assistance.

"Pasakalye's strong partnership with SM has led to the discovery of more talents who are now showcasing their skills. These budding artists have become self-supporting through the economic opportunity this initiative provides them," said Lumiqued.

SM Supermalls has prepared more venues in North Luzon to house the next legs of the art tour. This initiative aims to continuously provide opportunities for the creative community, particularly in visual arts, to promote and celebrate Filipino artistry.
