Piolo Pascual once worked as a security guard?
That's just one of the surprising revelations the reticent heartthrob actor made in a teaser on the show Korina Interviews, which airs on Net25 on Sundays at 5 p.m.
Another teaser in the Piolo episode, which airs tomorrow, 6 November, is his admission he used to have an "attitude" because "I knew the industry has a space for me…"
Not friends, but not enemies, either
Last week's episode had host Korina Sanchez bantering with former ABS-CBN colleague Karen Davila. That episode is said to have reached more than a million views on social media after the show's original airing date.
The interview was held at Karen's condo unit in Makati. She prepared pomelo salad and other treats for Korina.
Both admitted they were not close to each other during their news anchor days on the Kapamilya network due to hectic schedules.
But they were not enemies. They said it was probably the people around them who pitted them against each other.
Karen confided she regrets not having been friends with Korina in their younger years.
In the episode, Korina mentioned Karen once had a boyfriend, the brother of Loren Legarda, at UP Diliman.
Another revelation: Korina and Karen actually grew up in the same village in Parañaque, but they never got to know each other.
But Karen said she knew Korina's brother, Ramon, who was a "crush ng bayan" at UP.
Korina Interviews airs on Net25 on digital free TV Channel 28 and analog free TV Channel 25. On Skycable and Destiny Cable, it is on Channel 18, Sat Lite Channel 25, Cignal Channel 14 and GSat Channel 38.
Busy Papa P
Back to Piolo, who's incidentally on a concert tour with Jericho Rosales in Canada and in the United States. The first leg was held on 4 November in Vancouver and 5 November in Calgary.
They proceed to Houston, Texas on 12 November and Sacramento, California on 13 November.
Piolo then returns to Manila to shoot a new movie, The Ride, with Kyle Echarri.
"It's about a father and son on the run," he said. Madugo pero I like it because it's different. It's not rom-com at all. You kind of want to veer away from the usual formula, so when I read the script, I said yes right away," he explained.
"One pass and I said let's do it. The week after, we did the pre-prod. We are going to shoot in December.
He also has a musical and a series to make
"Come January, I am doing a series for Netflix with Sam Milby and a surprise leading lady. There's another film. I'm gonna start rehearsing for the musical I'm doing for the CCP come March. It's going to be shown in June."
Oh, boy, what a busy Papa P.
