
Authorities seized at least P50 million worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Cebu province according to Police Regional Office Central Visayas director Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba.
The operations also resulted in the arrest of suspected drug dealers identified as Christian Amistad Peña and his cohort, Burt Jason Faburada Turno on Tuesday night at Barangay Mabolo in Cebu City.
Peña, a former overseas Filipino worker, was believed to engage in illicit drug activity for two months while his cohort serves as the courier of drugs in the city.
According to reports, he can dispose of three to five kilos of shabu monthly in Barangays Hipodromo, Carreta, Mabolo, and other neighboring barangays in the city.
The operation was led by the City Intelligence Unit, City Drug Enforcement Unit of Mabolo Police Station, Cebu City Police Office, and Regional Intelligence Division 7 and seized from the suspects was at least 3,225 grams of suspected shabu worth P21.9 million.
In another operation, Alba said two alleged drug peddlers were arrested as they yielded at least P28 million worth of illegal drugs.
Joint operations of the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Consolacion Municipal Police Station under Cebu Police Provincial Police led to the arrest of the suspect identified as Dondonico Pacot Duaban, who was in possession of two kilos of suspected shabu worth P13.6 million during the buy-bust operation at West Binabag in Barangay Tayud.
Duaban was identified as a high-value individual.
In the same, day, a 43-year-old female drug personality identified as Arceli Auron Cortez alias "Cel," a native of Butuan City was apprehended in a joint buy-bust operation at Soong, Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.
