Marcos has called on the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and other government agencies to scale up search and rescue operations in the province as well as relief distribution in areas hit by the storm.

BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim has placed the entire region under a state of calamity.

In Maguindanao alone, authorities have so far recorded 52 casualties and 13 missing individuals as of 6 p.m. on 31 October.

The President will also lead the distribution of goods and financial assistance to families affected by the storm.
