Over 46K still displaced by ‘Karding’

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council disclosed that more than 46,000 people are still displaced a week after super typhoon "Karding" hit Luzon.

The NDRRMC said that 3,098 of the 46,452 people still displaced are staying in 26 evacuation centers, while the rest are staying elsewhere.

At least 58,172 houses were damaged by the super typhoon and of the total, 7,150 were completely destroyed.

More than a million people, or nearly 300,000 families, have been affected by the typhoon, which made landfall in Burdeos, Quezon late on 25 September according to the NDRRMC.

Affected individuals came from 30 provinces in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, MIMAROPA and Bicol Region.
