Lucky Me! has opened the doors of its Malvar plant to select members of the media to highlight the quality production of its well-loved noodles products.
The site, which became operational last August 2021, prides itself on efficient and highly-automated equipment that enables for a flow-through design and flow-to-work organization which, in turn, accounts for smoother noodle production with less human intervention.
Lucky Me! noodles are made with the following steps:
Mixing — flavorings and flour are mixed in a large bowl to form the dough.
Flattening — the dough is flattened and slitted.
Curling — the dough is now ready to be curled.
Steaming — it is now cooked using hot steam.
Cutting — after which it will be cut into small portions.
Frying — the noodles are now fried.
Cooling — they are dried and cooled.
Packing — the products are now packed and sealed in tight.
A few months ago, Lucky Me! products were recalled en masse due to health warnings issued by food regulators in Ireland, Malta, and France. Yet, Monde Nissin clarifies that their noodles are safe to eat, saying that ethylene oxide in finished products dissipates quickly.
