The Quezon City Police Department launched separate anti-criminality operations in the city which resulted to the arrest of 16 individuals over the weekend.
The Batasan Police Station and Anonas Police Station's operatives nabbed individuals during their anti-illegal drug operations identified as Jaylloyd Tawide Abalos, Patrick Tawide Abalos, Jaylord Escultor Castor and Jomel Malupange Alvarido, all residents of Barangay Batasan Hills.
Police seized 14 sachets of suspected shabu valued at P10,200 and the buy-bust money.
Over at the Anonas Police Station, authorities arrested Michael Santos Estacio and Alex Combaliser Mortiz, both residents of Barangay UP Campus during another sting operation. Seized from the suspects were three sachets of suspected shabu valued at P3,604, a cellular phone and the buy-bust money.
The suspects will be charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, six were apprehended by police operatives.
The Masambong Police Station reported the arrest of Julie-ann Diolata Baetiong of Barangay San Antonio and John Jacob Valdez Delos Santos of Barangay Paraiso on 15 October during the operation at Barangay San Antonio.
The suspects were caught playing cara y cruz, hence their arrest. Confiscated were pangara coins and bet money.
Meantime, the Novaliches Police Station reported the arrested of a certain Ronnel Prima Capranca of Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City and Alex Ragaodao Soriano of Barangay Bagong Silang in Caloocan City on 16 October for violation of PD 1602 or the Anti-Gambling Law.
The Cubao Police Station, on the other hand, arrested Arnel Mahinay Cudia of Barangay E. Rodriguez in Cubao and Rudy Tañuan Martinez of Barangay Escopa IV.
The suspects were caught playing cara y cruz at Westpoint Street near Aurora Boulevard. They will be charged for violation of the Anti-Gambling Law.
Meanwhile, in the campaign against Wanted Persons, four were arrested including the No. 10 Most Wanted Person of Holy Spirit Police Station.
PS 14 station commander P/Lt. Col. Alex Alberto identified the 10th most wanted as Denmark Nemedez Padrid of Barangay Pasong Tamo.
The Warrant of Arrest against Nemedez was served at the PCP-1 Custodial Facility for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Also, PS 14 arrested John Crisostomo Ferer Leynes of Barangay Sta. Monica for violation of the Anti-Gambling Law.
Meantime, PS 4 arrested George Cledoro Moncal of Barangay Gulod, Novaliches for violation of RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
Lastly, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit under P/Maj. Rene Balmaceda arrested Katon a.k.a Liton Shekh, a Bangladesh national and a resident of Barangay Commonwealth for theft.
