Game of Irons: Zamora, Lim lead winners

Alvin Zamora and Jay de Lim led the winners in the inaugural Game of Irons golf tournament organized by the Manila Golfers Union at the Intramuros golf course over the weekend.

Zamora shot an eagle-spiked three-under-par 63 to emerge as low gross champion while De Lim carded a net 61 off a three handicap to win the overall net title.

System 36 was used in the 18-hole event.

Gen. Nelson Yabut topped the Class A division with 61 just losing to De Lim via countback.

Robert King shot a 62 to take second place, edging Ronald Santos for having the most number of birdies.

In Class B, Kharvic Sitchon shot a 63 to beat John Paul Gutierrez by one with Joel Paguio settling for third with 65.

Roy Rac clinched Class C with 66, nipping Idoy Travino via countback. Third place went to Rene Lipana who carded a 69.

Class D — TJ Tajonera 66 (via countback), David Serapio 66, Kerwin Yao Lim 66

Class E — Raymond Cruz 65, Bryan Baguio 68 (via countback), Vincent Bustonera 68

Class A (ladies) — Mona Sarines 64, Lisa Sarines 67 (via countback), Ayeesha Ong 67

Class B (ladies) — Michelle Serapio 66, Jane Limoso 67, Clarissa Manay 70

Special award winners were Ramoel de Veyra (closest to the pin) and Kharvic Sitchon (longest putt).
