Spouses of Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, affectionately called "Rotary Anns," recently held their first meeting at Balay Sueño, an early 1900s house in Jaro, the old district of Iloilo City.
The party was hosted by the philanthropist and civic leader Rotary Ann Gina Sarabia-Espinosa and coordinated by Rotary Ann Liberty Valderrama. The event was graced by the presence of Rotary International District 3850 District Governor, John Michael Ng, and his lovely wife, Lady Krystel Ng.
This activity was held to instill fellowship amongst all Rotary Anns and discuss fundraising projects to help Rotary's campaign to "End Polio" by 2026, reviving community outreach programs through various channels, and election of this year's RMCI Anns roster of officers.
Initiatives for this year include collaborations and supporting Museo Iloilo's advocacy to help Ilonggo artists showcase their distinct talents through art with the theme "Delivering on a Promise of a
Polio-free World." Artworks will be sold at reasonable prices, portions of which will go to the artists, Museo de Iloilo, and the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo.
With the Covid-19 pandemic coming to an end through the government's massive vaccination program, RCMI Anns will also be holding an
on-the-spot poster-making contest with the assistance of Museo de Iloilo — details and theme of the said activity will be announced soon pending announcement of updated health protocols, especially for student participants of the event.
